How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the body which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions. Acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural pain-relieving neurohormones. Acupuncture also has an influence on the functioning of the hormonal systems, promotes a decrease in inflammation, increased circulation and relief from pain. In essence it works to remove blockages and balance energy flow in the body to help it preform its best.
Who can benefit from treatments?
Just about everyone can benefit from acupuncture!! Everyone's body has different imblances that may or may not have symptoms yet. Acupuncture works to correct those imbalances whether they have outward symptoms or not!
Chronic pain, Anxiety, Sleep problems, Digestive upsets, Seasonal Allergies, Depression, Sciatica, Autoimmune Disorders, Muscle or Joint Pain and Injury, Constipation, Diarrhea, Tennis elbow, Arthritis, Pregnancy related issues, Infertility, you name it we can help in some way!

Is Acupuncture Safe?
One of the most striking aspects of acupuncture is the almost complete absence of adverse effects and complications from its use. Most patients find that the treatments are relaxing and cause minimal discomfort. Acupuncture is a safe technique, provided that practitioners are properly trained and follow appropriate techniques.Â
It is important to inform the practitioner of your medical history, medications and if you are pregnant or could possibly be pregnant, as acupuncture treatment may have to be modified or may not be appropriate.
What are your Covid protocols
Due to the nature of acupuncture our rooms have always been near surgical level clean! Everything is wiped down with alcohol, including floors, linens are washed in the hottest water possible with hydrogen peroxide, and cups and tools are bleached.
Hands are washed immediately prior to entering your room every time and masks can be worn if a patient feels more comfortable with one.
How many treatments will I need?
A good rule of thumb is that for every year you have had a condition it takes about a month of regular treatments (either twice weekly, weekly or bi weekly depending on the case) to correct the imbalance.
Acupuncture has a cumulative effect, meaning that we build on top of the progress from each previous treatment. As your symptoms start to improve we will start to space out treatments further and further apart.
